About the play partner: Tammy Kim is a mother, nonprofit leader, educator, community advocate, small business owner, and former corporate executive. Tammy was elected to Irvine City Council in 2020 and served her second year as Vice Mayor in 2023. Raised in difficult economic circumstances, Tammy has always been driven by a desire to help others. After successfully climbing the corporate ladder, Tammy chose to invest her resources to create a local non-profit to serve the immigrant community. Tammy is a well-respected civic leader who has served as Irvine’s Finance Commissioner, Chair of the Language Access Committee for the Orange County (OC) Registrar of Voters, a member of the City of Irvine Complete Count Committee for the 2020 Census and the Committee for the Irvine Global Village Festival. Tammy currently represents Irvine on the boards of the Southern California Association of Governments, the OC Council of Governments; Irvine Community Land Trust; OC Public Libraries; OC Mosquito and Vector Control, and most recently elected to the League of California Cities, OC Division Board, where she serves on the Housing, Community, and Economic Development Policy Committee; OC Power Authority; and the OC Fire Authority. Tammy also serves on the Liaison Committees for two school boards.
