About the play partner: City of Irvine Council Member Melinda Liu
Councilmember Melinda Liu:
Councilmember Melinda Liu is a long-time Irvine resident, having raised all three of her children in Irvine at IUSD schools and served as PTA President and on the Northwood High School Athletic Booster board. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan before moving to the United States as a teenager, going on to the University of California, Berkeley for her Bachelors in Political Science and Southwestern University for a Juris Doctor degree, allowing her to pursue a career in estate planning law before being elected onto Irvine City Council in November 2024.
Councilmember Liu will be presenting vegetable egg rolls, as they’re a universal food all across China and the country’s regional cuisine. As the Councilmember both ate egg rolls growing up and served them to her kids, they hold a lot of personal meaning to the Liu family.
